Material selection

A detailed climate study of Playa Tahueca guided the selection of materials suited to the coastal environment.

All materials were chosen to be resistant to humidity and salinity, thermally efficient, and low maintenance — ensuring durability, efficiency, and long-term value.

Ventilation
and comfort

The prevailing Pacific winds were studied to design natural cross-ventilation strategies.

These allow interiors to remain cool and comfortable while reducing reliance on artificial climate control, improving energy efficiency and overall living quality.

Light as an architectural element

The sun’s path was analyzed to determine views, window orientation, natural light entry, and the dimensions of pergolas and roof overhangs.

This allows light control, shade creation, and improved thermal performance throughout the villas.

Additionally, a comprehensive lighting concept was developed, prioritizing warm, soft illumination with minimal light pollution.

Lighting was designed to highlight the architecture, ensure safe circulation, and create intimate atmospheres that follow the natural rhythm of the surroundings while respecting the coastal night landscape.
